Year 2 were lucky enough to be part of the Good Shepherd Celebration at Worth Abbey this year. The Abbey is a beautiful and unusual building which is unique in being circular. At the start all the schools in our diocese processed down the aisle with their school banners. We were then treated to beautifully choreographed dances and music all linked to this year’s theme of ‘feeding the poor’. Each school contributed a loaf of bread to the display, symbolising our commitment to helping those in poverty and Sacred Heart was invited to read the First Reading (thank you Bea Bea). The diocesan schools jointly contributed over £10,000 to Mission to help children throughout the world. ‘Children helping Children’ A picnic lunch in the Abbey grounds completed an exciting and enjoyable day.
