During the course of this week and next, each class has had the wonderful opportunity of a taster session of Forest School. The children have loved being able to use a selection of tools to create some beautiful pieces of natural art. Every child was given the opportunity to make a name badge necklace that they will be able to wear to any future sessions. They were taught how to safely use tools such as a Palm Drill and a saw to cut into slices of wood. There will be no hungry birds at Sacred Heart School in the near future as the children also made apple bird feeders and were incredibly inventive with their unique designs! If you look closely in the trees at school, you may just spot an apple 'snowman' or a smiley face apple 'stick lady'! Other activities included mini-beast hunts and making seed balls out of clay, compost and seeds - expect some beautiful wildflowers to appear on the grounds very soon....!
