On Tuesday, children from Key Stage Two had an adventurous day at Wilderness Woods in Hadlow Down. They experienced a range of activities from shelter building Stone Age-style, Map Skills and Orienteering as well as learning about Life Cycles and Habitats.

Year 3 completed an activity session based on the Stone Age. We went down into the woods, keeping a careful eye out for Stone Age predators! Once there, we learnt about how these early people would have made fire. Our leader, then taught us how to make shelters using Y-branches and a roof bar. We had to cover our shelters with greenery to ensure they were as waterproof as possible. We then had to get into the shelters whilst water was sprinkled on top to see how good a job we had done. Some of us got quite wet!
