All the children had learnt about reproduction in plants during Science lessons and the visit was a hands-on opportunity to consolidate this learning. They started out with a workshop examining the structure of flowers and then dissecting and labelling each part. There was a seed and flower trail where children investigated different pollinators and clues to indicate how grasses and flowers are pollinated. They finished the day with a seed workshop where they investigated seeds under the microscope and looked at methods of seed dispersal.
