Thank you to all who attended our special assembly this morning and to those of you who gave up your time during the week to read with the children; recount tales of schooldays past and regale them with stories of your achievements and expeditions!  Particularly intriguing for the children was the concept of the teaching nuns… and their reputation for keeping strict discipline; the image of sago and tapioca puddings – why didn’t we just leave what we didn’t like?!  The freedom to roam, the liberty to leave home in the morning and come back when you were hungry is nowadays the stuff of fiction.  And can you imagine going home for lunch from school at midday!

We hope you enjoy your poems, your prayers, your trophies and recognise yourselves in the recipes for perfect grandparents – no wonder you have such lovely grandchildren!
