Our Reception children have loved learning about Lunar New Year and exploring the traditions behind this special celebration.

We re-told the story of The Great Race, used ordinal numbers to sequence the animals, and enjoyed lots of creative activities - making lanterns, horses and red envelopes, while learning that red symbolises good luck and happiness.

The children also practised writing Chinese numbers, developed fine motor skills using chopsticks, and had great fun moving their own dragons to music inspired by traditional dragon dances.

A wonderful celebration full of learning, creativity and culture!
