Today we celebrated our special school feast day: The Feast of Sacred Heart. We started the day with a whole school Celebration of the Word and each class participated in this, from Nursery Class setting up the prayer focus, Year 2 children playing the handbells during one of the hymns, and other classes sharing Gospel readings, the meaning of the image of the Sacred Heart and explaining what love looks like to them. We were reminded that Jesus' heart literally burns for each one of us and we, in turn, are called to show our love to one another, something that we think Sacred Heart children do incredibly well. It was very moving and a perfect way to start our special day.
Children then enjoyed lollies at playtime, and we were treated to a whole school picnic in the Priest's House garden with a wonderful and very delicious spread from Pollen Partnership. It was lovely to all come together, staff and children, and it was a fitting tribute to the love we have for each other as one big 'Sacred Heart family'
