Candlemas Assembly

Boys and girls in Reception Class and Year 6 collaborated to present a wonderful assembly which explained to the whole school and visitors the significance of Candlemas which is also called ‘The Presentation of the Lord’. They really enjoyed working together to create art and crafts as well as acting out the story from the Gospel of Luke.

Their audience also learnt a great deal about the symbols of the season. Did you know that snow drops (often associated with Candlemas) are the first sign of the coming of Spring and they give us hope of lighter days ahead, just as Jesus leads us out of the darkness into His light.
