U9 ROSEHILL NETBALL TOURNAMENT

The Y4 girls went off to their first netball tournament at Rose Hill on Thursday very nervous but excited. We were lucky as the first round was played in the sports hall and out of the wind.

Our first opposition was Derwent Lodge. It was a close match with the ball getting into both circles but resulting in neither team managing to score.

Our next match against Holmewood House, the girls spaced out better and marked their opposition tightly, winning this match 4-0.

This put us in the winners round as we had won our section. We then played against Rose Hill which was a very tight match the score being 1-1 at half time. In the second half the team continued to mark closely and just before the final whistle, we scored the winning goal giving a 2-1 win.

Finally, we played St Michaels’ who had won the tournament for the last three years. Our Sacred Heart team displayed excellent netball skills throughout this final match and had a deserved victory of 6-1 which won the tournament. Well done!
