What a morning we had for the Inter Schools Cross Country Festival this week!

Blue skies and sunshine contributed to the festival atmosphere and the children’s spirits were high. We took a small squad of boys and girls from Y4 and Y5 to the competition and all our runners acquitted themselves very well, completing the course without faltering or falling.

The Y4 Girls all finished within the top 25 with Lorraine coming in at 8th place and Olivia in 14th.

Y4 boys saw a brilliant run by Dean to finish well ahead of the field in 1st place with good runs from Rupert and Felix H who finished in midfield.

The Y5s competed in the Y5/6 qualifier for county and ultimately national competitions with Josephine going through in 5th position and Sophie and Freya crossing the line together shortly after. Milo ran with consistent pace in the boys competition to qualify in 3rd place. Digby finished strongly with Hector close behind.

Overall a great competition and special mention to the great sportsmanship demonstrated by our Y4 girls in particular who cheered and encouraged everyone regardless of school once their own race was over. Qualifying for the Partnership Finals on 16th October: Milo and Josephine – Congratulations!
