In November, some of our Year 5 and 6 children took the Primary Maths Challenge (PMC). This is a fun and exciting mathematical challenge taken by children across the country. The PMC encourages enthusiasm, boosts confidence in mathematics and shows the different way questions can be asked. It does not depend on mathematical knowledge alone, but on the ability to think things through, be logical and find ways to solve problems. Pupils also need to read the questions carefully! Unfortunately, none of our pupils made it through to the national stage but as this required a score upward of 80% this was a tall order! However, all our pupils performed really well and should be very proud of their achievement in tackling such a tricky challenge.
